How to Care for the Dieffenbachia Compacta Plant
Light: Dieffenbachia loves the shade in the summer months and likes to be placed somewhere with indirect light during the winter period.
Water: Keep the soil moist during the summer period and water less in winter. Importantly, please don't allow the soil to become soggy. Check the soil to make sure it is dry an inch down before watering the dieffenbachia plant.
Soil: The soil for the Dieffenbachia needs soil that retain some water but also drain well. If you get a standard potting soil it may pack too tightly and drown out the roots, so mix in perlite or coarse sand to add aeration.
Humidity and Temperature: 60-85℉ is best for Dieffenbachia. If the temperature drops below 50℉, the plant will stop growing.
Fertilizer: use a complete fertilizer such as 20-20-20 and feed every 4-6 weeks only during the active growing season. Maintain moderately moist soil. Watering is an important part of growing dieffenbachia.
